Shipping Policy
Processing Time
Orders are typically processed within 2-3 business days (Monday-Friday, excluding bank holidays). During busier periods or special releases, processing may take up to 5 business days. We'll send you a dispatch notification with tracking information once your order leaves our haunt.
Please note: Custom orders or special requests may require additional processing time – we'll contact you if this applies to your order.
Shipping Methods & Costs
UK Mainland
Standard Delivery (Royal Mail 2nd Class): 2-4 working days - £3.50
Tracked Delivery (Royal Mail Tracked 48): 2-3 working days with tracking - £3.55
Express Delivery (Royal Mail Tracked 24): 1-2 working days with tracking - £4.45
Free standard shipping on orders over £55.
Scottish Highlands & Islands
Please allow an additional 1-2 days for delivery to Highland and Island postcodes. We use Royal Mail services which may have extended delivery times to these areas.
International Shipping
We ship worldwide! International delivery times vary by destination:
Europe: 5-7 working days - price shown when you enter your address
Rest of World: 7-14 working days - price shown when you enter your address
Please note that international orders may be subject to customs charges, import duties, or taxes imposed by your country. These charges are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in our shipping costs.
Tracking Your Order
All tracked orders include a tracking number sent to your email address. You can follow your parcel's journey through Royal Mail's tracking system.
Standard 2nd Class orders do not include tracking, but rest assured – your books are on their way to you.
Lost or Delayed Parcels
UK Orders: If your order hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us at hello@ghostandquill.co.uk. We'll investigate with Royal Mail and resolve the issue.
International Orders: International shipping times are estimates. Customs processing can add unexpected delays. If your order hasn't arrived within 21 days of dispatch, please get in touch and we'll help track it down.
Damaged in Transit
Books are carefully packaged to survive their journey, but sometimes the postal service isn't kind to them. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us at hello@ghostandquill.co.uk within 48 hours and include photographs. We'll arrange a replacement or refund.
PO Boxes & Special Delivery Instructions
We can ship to PO Boxes and BFPO addresses within the UK. If you need your parcel left in a safe place or have special delivery instructions, please add these in the notes section at checkout or email us directly.
Busy Periods
During peak periods (Halloween, Christmas, special releases), please allow extra processing and delivery time. We'll always do our best to get your books to you as quickly as possible, but the postal system can be unpredictable during these spooky seasons.

Returns Policy
14-Day Return Window
We offer a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it – unread or unused, with any tags intact, and in its original packaging. You'll also need your receipt or proof of purchase.
Please note: Buyers are responsible for return postage costs.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receiving it and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Please include photographs of any damage or flaws with your message.
Understanding Our Book Conditions
Ghost & Quill offers books across various condition categories – from pristine new releases to well-loved Second Chapter books. Each listing clearly states the book's condition using our grading system.
Important: When ordering a Second Chapter book (previously owned), please be prepared for the character that comes with a book that's lived a life before reaching you. This may include:
Creased spines
Page yellowing or foxing
Minor cover wear or scuffing
Previous owner markings (noted in description where significant)
That distinctive used-book smell
These are not defects – they're part of a Second Chapter book's history. Please review the condition description carefully before purchasing to ensure it matches your expectations.
Non-Returnable Items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Refunds
We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you'll be automatically refunded using your original payment method within 10 business days.
Please remember it can take additional time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your return, please contact us at hello@ghostandquill.co.uk.
